Georgian Home
Georgian Country House, North Yorkshire
Location: North Yorkshire
Client: Private Residential
Scope: Project Management, Interior Design, Bathroom Redesign, Colour Schemes, Furniture & Sourcing
Interiors at Nine to Eleven was appointed to redesign and manage the redecoration of the interior spaces of a substantial Georgian country house in North Yorkshire. The client’s brief was to sensitively transform a heritage property which they had purchased in a somewhat dated style into a contemporary family home, while preserving the charm and elegance of the original Georgian architecture.
We developed comprehensive colour schemes throughout the home, and sourced a full range of furniture, upholstery and soft furnishings to create a warm, elegant, and practical interior. We also provided guidance on antique sourcing, helping the client find timeless pieces that blended beautifully with the updated interiors — including the unique procurement of a golden Thomas Crapper & Co. toilet, adding a touch of heritage luxury and humour.
As project lead, we managed all aspects of delivery — from design development to on-site coordination — working with a trusted team of craftspeople and specialists, including those selected by the client. Our work included the sourcing of Yorkshire stone flags, a period-appropriate fireplace, and overseeing all flooring, joinery, and bathroom design and installations. The interiors team lovingly styled the home from all the curtains, soft furnishings and seating, even including the Christmas tree decorations!
The result is a carefully curated home that now balances heritage character with contemporary comfort, and a transformation that the clients were thrilled with from start to finish.
