If you’ve been to Nine to Eleven during the Christmas season, you already know how special it is. Christmas at Nine to Eleven is a spectacle worth traveling for; a remarkable sight; and a true bucket list item for any holiday enthusiast. The festive season here is nothing short of magical, and we want to share a glimpse into the immense amount of work that goes into creating it. From the moment you arrive, you will be swept up in the magic and you’ll wonder why you’ve never experienced Christmas at Nine to Eleven before!
A Year-Round Effort
The preparations for Christmas at Nine to Eleven begin as soon as the previous holiday season ends. Our team begins brainstorming and planning early in January to ensure that every detail is perfect.
First, we select our themes and colour schemes, usually starting at 5 or 6 as there is so much choice (and we don't half get carried away!) but we manage to structure our themes to just 3 with a couple of random bits and pieces thrown in too!
Once the themes are decided we begin designing new displays. The creative process is ongoing and varies based on the year and what theme we choose. Of course, we incorporate paints, wallpapers, and fabrics into all our displays, so this is our starting point. Having such a wide variety of goods, services and individual gifts means we never fall short of finding enough wonderful items to complement the chosen theme. So, the displays, whilst beautiful, are purposeful (and everything can be purchased!)
We want the experience to begin as soon as you enter the front door so our wonderful products start here with your door wreath, stepping inside your senses are awakened with special home fragrances, natural oranges and pot pourri garlands. Our special village scenes, twinkling lanterns and hurricanes add so much atmosphere with considered table scaping, decor, crackers and candlesticks, table linens, glasses and ceramics; we choose everything with each theme in mind.
After lunch, settle down into that comfy sofa in front of the fire and put your feet up on a new ottoman or footstool – yes, you've guessed we take the theme right through here too. But of course, the utterly unique centerpiece is the tree - and our decorations are beyond decadent. Vibrant, unusual, and most importantly fun, there are tree decorations for everyone. Everything is carefully curated and perfectly displayed from the sparkling lights to the very last tree topper. This dedication ensures that each year Christmas is unique and brings fresh surprises to our visitors.
Behind the glamour:
Once the designs are finalised, the real work begins. Stocktaking and processing the orders, barcoding products and planning the deliveries is no mean feat, and these start coming in the heat of the summer!
Once the support team have checked and processed the orders, they hand them over to our visual display team to sprinkle their magical fairy dust. Decorating Nine to Eleven for Christmas is no small feat. Countless twinkling lights and colourful ornaments are meticulously placed to transform our space into a winter wonderland. Our team works tirelessly, often around the clock, to ensure that every decoration is perfectly positioned, ready for launch!
One of the most heartwarming aspects of Christmas at Nine to Eleven is our location, in the heart of our beautiful North Yorkshire town, Malton. Our community and local businesses well and truly come together to contribute to the festivities, and this sense of community spirit adds an extra layer of warmth and authenticity to the celebrations, making it a truly special time for everyone involved. Events such as The St Clements festival in late November and the two-day Christmas food and gift market in early December really set the scene involving many local groups, volunteers and fellow independent business and stall holders.
Party Time!
The launch party is an extremely popular event. Last year we took bookings from Scotland, The Wirral, Lincolnshire, Kent, and Cornwall as well as our returning local customers all over Yorkshire too. Launch day is so much fun, we celebrate with you and have drinks and snacks and lots of sweets on offer. We offer personal shopping and gift wrapping and of course if needed home delivery for the bigger items.
