A Decade to Celebrate — And the Best Still to Come

As we edge closer to our 20th year in business, I’ve found myself reflecting on just how much we have to celebrate — and what an incredible design journey it’s been so far. This year marks a decade of milestones, proud moments, and people who have shaped Interiors at Nine to Eleven into what it is today.
Mary James – 10 Years and Now Our Creative Director
We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate Mary James’ 10th year with the business. Over the past decade, Mary has grown from strength to strength, infusing every project with her raw creativity, practical approach, and that unmistakable spark of Yorkshire spirit. Her promotion to Creative Director is not just a title — it’s the recognition of her talent, her eye for unique design, and her unwavering dedication. Mary now leads the creative direction of our interiors with boldness, heart, and a fantastic instinct for what makes a home feel truly special.
Hever Castle – A Personal Milestone
On a personal note, it’s also been 10 years since I completed the Anne Boleyn Wing at Hever Castle. It was the second phase to the Hever Castle journey, Transforming the old Appleyard stores and offices into nine beautiful junior suites and breakfast room remains one of the proudest achievements of my career. The project was a year in the planning and procurement phase, each room was individually designed with care, character, and a deep sense of place — a real collaboration between our installers and the Interiors at Nine to Eleven team back home. This project reminded me just how powerful design can be when it’s fuelled by passion and teamwork.
Wendy Walker – A Fond Farewell After 10 Wonderful Years
We are also raising a glass to our dear Wendy Walker, who has recently retired after 10 years of loyal service. Wendy has been a constant source of warmth, reliability, and joy in our business. We’re incredibly grateful for the energy and heart she brought to every day, and while we’ll miss her dearly, we’re celebrating all she’s given to the team over the years.

It’s a chance to come together, celebrate friendship and creativity, and raise a scone to the years gone by — and the exciting ones still to come.
A Decade of Design, A Legacy of Teamwork
At the heart of all these celebrations is something simple but powerful: teamwork and trust. Over the last 10 years, we’ve grown together, learned together, and created some truly beautiful spaces together — from family homes to heritage suites, and everything in between.
And now, as we look ahead to 2026 and the celebration of our 20th year in business, we do so with gratitude, excitement, and a shared passion for creating interiors that are full of colour, character, and soul.
